About Us

The first Not too Old to Dance concert was held in October 2012 in a bid to give us oldies a great night out with the music WE love not that doof-doof garbage the youngins listen to.

In that time, weve been proud to bring some iconic rockers to Townsville including 1927, The Choirboys, Mental as Anything and the Souper Group featuring John ‘Swanee’ Swan, Kevin Borich, Mark Gable, Harry Brus and Mick O’Shea… and this year weve got even more legendary acts up our sleeves with the Baby Animals and Pseudo Echo headlining and some great local acts to be announced soon.

Our team of passionate old rockers and some young ones who we just keep around to help us with the techie stuff (you know how it is!) had been dreaming of a music fest exclusively for Over 40s for many years before Townsville man Richard Fuller was famously told he was “too old to dance” at a Cold Chisel concert.

The incident sparked fierce support for dancing oldies everywhere and gave our team the light bulb moment we needed to give our pipe dream a name and bring it to life!

Three years on Not too Old to Dance is a MUST DO annual event on Townsvilles Rock Scene as it gives thousands of ‘oldies’ and ‘oldies at heart’  an opportunity to let their hair down, rock on and relive the glory days of the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

In 2014, Not too Old to Dance will span all of Townsville!

This years concert will give rockers even more chances to prove theyre not too old to dance at exciting locations all over Townsville before the main event at Tony Ireland Stadium on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

Well also return to our roots, as a strictly Over 40s event.
